■ Overview

Vintage camper "Vanagon". There is no car that is as enjoyable for camping as the classic Volkswagen.

In fact, the familiar name Vanagon is a coined word made in the United States by combining "van" and "wagon", and it was a nickname, not a name released by Volkswagen.

The official name is "Transporter", but it was familiarly named Vanagon in North America and Caravelle in Europe.

This Vanagon, equipped with an air-cooled 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission mounted in the rear, is finished in ivory and the paint is original.

This rare air-cooled Vanagon has had all the necessary maintenance done (overhaul of the lower body, etc.) and is currently in a comfortable condition for driving.

It has been driven quite a bit, but it doesn't look like it has 500,000 km on it.

■Body

Original ivory paint.

Rust is present throughout the vehicle. The rust on VWs of this age is part of the character.

There are small and large dents on the left side.

There is a crack in the plastic part of the front bumper on the right corner, and a few other scratches.

There are connection holes on each of the left sides.

You can connect the hose to the connection to supply water, store it in the tank, and connect electricity directly, so you don't have to worry about the battery running out.

There are four stays on the sides of the roof that allow you to place a carrier on them.

 

■Interior

・The interior is relatively clean, and the only thing that bothers me is the mold on the ceiling.

Injection replaced with Weber 40IDF carburetor.
